Long Day in the Sun

This past Saturday was a beautiful sunny day and it was a great opportunity to spend some time with my family. Lubbock Ranching Heritage Center had their annual Ranch Day, which lets kids go through and learn the things that were done on a Ranch. Grinding Corn, Hand Washing Cloths, Branding Cattle, Braiding Rope, Etc. It was a fun day, but hot!! Bryce was a little monster and wanted down the whole time and wanted into everything he saw. He wanted to ride the horses so bad, but once my brother tried to put him on it he started to cry. I hadn't been to the RHC since I was in Elementary School so it was a treat for me as well.

Bryce started getting fussy so we all decided to leave and Logan and I headed downtown to the Blue Ribbon Bike and Car Rally. There were lots of great cars and bikes as far as the eye could see down in the Depot District. We met up with Zane,Kara,Tristan,Delanie,Noah and Brian. We spent an hour or so in the hot sun looking at the bikes and cars. The guys rode off on their bikes and Logan and I headed to cool off. We went for a refreshing shaved ice at Bahama Bucks. After we cooled off we spent the rest of the day shopping. Logan is such a trooper, I drug him all over town looking for a birthday present for my mom. But I made up for it by taking him shopping for his birthday as well. We had a great day and ended it at Mammy's eating cake for Logan,Mom and Aunt Suzie's birthday. All in all it was a great day EXCEPT for the Sunburn.

Easter

Easter is a great time to rejoice in Jesus. I woke up late on Easter morning and rushed to church to find that they were still in the middle of worship...which was good. The first thing that caught my eye that morning was Britany(the youth ministers wife) on the stage with the band painting on an easel. The painting that was there when I first walked in slowly began to change as the music went on and as Tommy delivered his message. I could not figure out why she kept covering up each layer of what I thought was a very pretty painting. As the end of the sermon approached the canvas had revealed the face of Jesus....it was AMAZING!! His face came through all of those layers of paint. I wish I had pictures to share with all of you. I rushed home after church in the crazy West Texas wind and got ready to meet up with my family.

I always love getting together with my family for holidays. Easter is always fun with the youngsters running after all of the eggs. This year my Aunt Ann decided to hide a money egg. I thought it would be fun for all of the older "kids"(which was my 13 year old nephew, myself and all of my older cousins) to hunt for the money egg. I was the first one outside but did not have any luck finding the egg. My mom thought it would be nice to help out my nephew and tell him if he was getting hot or cold. I started following him around, but still came up with nothing. My cousin Chris finally found it after awhile of searching for it. Funny thing is, my sister in law had just tipped over the cinder block that the egg was hidden in. It was alot of fun seeing all of us grown "kids" looking for that egg. I have included a few pictures of the kids on Easter.
